A Page a Day

I grew up knowing the famous proverb, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” The more I advanced in my education; the more the saying made sense. Finally, I embraced a healthy lifestyle and, today, I rally for a vegetarian diet.

Small quantities of good things taken in a systematic, frequent manner are beneficial to our health. And so is information. If we commit to reading in a systematic and regular manner, we become knowledgeable in an area, and, of course, become bookworm with time.

‘An-apple-a-day’ phrase was adopted to serve as a cue to people, especially those who hardly practice healthy eating. Its success is unchallengeable, and many people love the simplicity of this natural way to avoid chronic, debilitating illnesses.

We can carry analogy and apply in our spiritual lives, and soon enough, we will be able to enjoy and manifest the fruits. And if faith comes by hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17) and blessed are those who hear or read the words of the Bible (Revelations 1:3), adopting a systematic way of reading the Bible, Spirit of Prophecy books, and the Sabbath School Bible Study lesson guides is just what we need.

After conducting a study, an international evangelist came to the conclusion that there are many Christians who do not have a devotional life. As a result, he inspired, pioneered, and steered a strategy known as Revived By His Word to encourage Christians from all corners of the globe to read the same Chapter of the Bible every day.

There is a multitude of Bible reading plans that can help us read the word of God a-page-a-day. On July 10, 2015, a novel reading plan was devised to increase the readership of the Bible among Christians. The Bible/SOP One Year Reading Program is also excellent. The Sebastopol Seventh Day Adventist Church’s Bible in a year or walk through the Bible reading plan is also something that can be easily adapted to nourish the inner man.
